Notaro Care Homes

Notaro Care Homes has built a strong reputation over the last 40 years for providing excellent dementia and nursing care across Somerset and the South West. They believe that when people feel happy inside, it boosts their overall health and well-being.

Founded in 1984 by Mr. Nunzio Notaro, and his wife Constance. They opened their first care home in Torquay, Devon. Since then, they have expanded to 11 homes across Somerset, North Somerset, and Devon, offering a wider range of services.

Background

Lanier first met with Notaro Care Homes in 2018 as their copier contract with ITEC was ending. After a competitive process, Alto Digital was selected as the new service provider. However, Lanier has kept in touch and maintained a friendly relationship with Notaro, in the knowledge that one day they would see the true benefits Lanier can offer. That day has come!

Key Issues with Alto Digital's

As time went on, Notaro Care Homes experienced dissatisfaction with Alto Digital’s services due to several critical issues:

  • Delayed Toner Deliveries: Toner shipments frequently arrived late, causing operational disruptions.
  • Frequent Downtime: Machine errors occasionally led to interruptions, which reduced the productivity of the care home.
  • Lack of Support: Alto Digital’s support was inadequate, with slow response times and unsatisfactory resolutions.
  • Billing Errors: Notaro was incorrectly billed for hardware that had already been removed, adding financial stress and frustration.

By late 2023, it was clear that Notaro needed a new service provider in order to address the above issues.

Lanier's Proposal

Lanier engaged with Notaro Care Homes in late 2023 to discuss a tailored-made solution. Recognising the issues Notaro had faced, Lanier developed a proposal focused on:

  • Reliable Equipment: Lanier recommended Toshiba devices with higher specifications, promising better performance and reliability.
  • Cost Reduction: Notaro’s costs were reduced by 22%, achieved through more efficient devices and optimised service plans.
  • Enhanced Service and Support: Lanier is committed to proactive service, ensuring timely delivery of supplies, quick response times, and robust support.

Implementation and Challenges Addressed

Lanier engineers identified and resolved several network issues while installing across multiple Notaro Care Homes sites:

  • Network Configuration: Some devices were not networked due to broken ports. Lanier's engineers fixed these on-site, ensuring all devices were online and fully operational.
  • Security Enhancements: To support GDPR compliance, Lanier made additional recommendations and changes to elevate data security and help ensure GDPR had a high level of security.

Post-Installation Review

One month after installation, Lanier conducted a survey to assess satisfaction and gather feedback from Notaro. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Notaro highlighting several key aspects:

  • Improved Communication and Responsiveness: Staff felt that Lanier’s communication was transparent and proactive, contrasting sharply with Alto Digital’s previous service.
  • Reliable Equipment Performance: With Toshiba devices, the issues of downtime and frequent maintenance were significantly reduced.
  • Positive Financial Impact: The cost was reduced, without billing errors and better alignment of costs with services provided.

Notaro Care Homes expressed their satisfaction, noting that they wished they had joined the Lanier family the first time around.
